You gotta love minor league baseball

Finally, some news about Britney Spears that has me interested. Okay, so it's not that I've been waiting for this day by any means, but I did find a little newsbit that caught my attention and it involved my favorite white-trash celebrity.

Spears, who has made the news a couple of times recently for proving she is extremely unfit to be a parent, was honored, or make that mocked, by the Newark Bears with 'Britney Spears Baby Safety Night.' For those that don't know, the Bears are a minor league baseball team in Newark, NJ.

As part of the promotion, fans received information on car seat safety and also had the chance to register to win a free car seat, courtesy of AAA. Those that dressed as a baby, brought a baby toy, or even brought their baby were allowed in for free.

The reason for this was to spread the word about keeping babies safe. Spears was mocked for, among other things, driving with her barely year-old son in her lap. Not exactly safe Britney, but then again, we don't expect you to do anything intelligent.

This has to be one of my favorite minor league promotions ever. Good job Newark Bears. This just about redeems you for hiring Jose Canseco a couple of years ago.
