Two Days in Bogota

Elliott and I made it down to Bogota safely on Friday night. So far it´s been a fantastic weekend. Bogota is a really nice city and the people are incredibly friendly and nice. We´ve even been mistaken for Canadians, a group of teenagers was shouting, "Eh! Eh! Eh!" at us. It was pretty funny.

Yesterday we wandered around and visited musems for the day. The main attractions were the Gold Museum and a museum devoted to Colombian artist Fernando Botero. I really like Botero. They´re mostly paintings of fat, naked people, but Elliott stuck with the much more politically-correct, roly poly.

We also met up with Alberto, a coworker of Elliott´s. We had a great time hanging out with him and grabbing a few drinks last night.

Today we checked out a mountain overlooking Bogota called Cerro Monserrate. It gave some nice views of the city. After that we bought tickets to a bullfight. It was both of our first and though pretty gruesome, really interesting and fun. We even got offered some wine by a guy sitting close by. Really friendly people.

Tomorrow it´s off to the coast and Tayrona National Park. Hope everyone is doing well back home.
